I was just asked about a cordless multi-line phone to be added to a Norstar 8X24 with DR5 software; can a T7406 be used on that release software? What about the EnGenius phones you guys are talking about?

I appreciate any suggestions/advice that you can give me!

CG,
The engenius is analog. It comes in 1 and 4 line flavors. The 4 line unit has an AA in the base station. Both units are supposed to network up to 36 sets to one base station. This has been rather problematical... one or two but not more is my experience .. glitches in ringing and dropped calls become apparrant after that. Engenius range is outstanding particularly if you add the external antenna.
T7406 is a good unit with CRAPPY range. Good for a small office setting where there are no obstacles for signal. Otherwise it is a great little multi line unit. Six buttons, 5 of which can be lines.... I suppose six could be lines too but don't feel secure without at least 1 intercom key..
Both units have NiMH batteries and remote transmitters.
If you tape a bent coat hanger to the antenna of the T7406 you will get a little better range out of it.
T7406 works on ALL DRs and Rls levels. But only 5.x w/F*81 software lets you put the five lines on the phone. T7406 uses buttons 1-3 and 6-8 on an M7310.

Cheers
PhM
