T7316 sets on 8x24 DR5 - internal autodial no indication

We have a customer with an 8x24 DR5 software (SP30MUJ11). We installed some T7316 sets which seem to work fine. We cannot get the internal autodial keys to indicate if the user is on the phone for certain keys though. On the bottom 16 indicator keys, keys 11,13,15 and 17,19,21 (top three each side) work fine, but the keys 1-5 and 6-10 (bottom 5 each side) will not show when the programmed station is off-hook or in use. The customer has tried several different stations, same thing. Yet if he programs DND for eg it works fine. So it seems that those bottom keys will not work with this feature on the software and the T7316 sets. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Could it be a telephone revision issue?
Any responses are appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

I think that the T7316 will not work correctly on a 8 X 24 it is just to old of software. Like the Call Pilot will work on an 8 X 24 but not all features work. Compatablity issues. Have you tried to use an answer DN instead of Auto Dial. KDB

We need to think like a 7310 here! I know it's a 7316, but the 8x24 DR5 thinks it's a 7310.

Here is the question to ask. On the bottom 10 buttons of a 7310 (where the lines, intercom etc. buttons are), does the system show the LCD status of internal auto dial buttons? The 7316 should act the same way.

I would suggest plugging in a 7310 and programming one or more buttons (on the bottom) for internal auto dial. See how the system responds then. That's how the 7316 should act.

Keep in mind, a T7208 is really a M7208 in a new shell. So too is the T and M 7100. The 7316 is the same as a 7310, again, just repackaged. The 7316E does have some differences, but for the most part is still a 7310.

Thanks for the responses so far.

DTone: The Answer DN feature does not provide an off hook indication so that won't work.

TheAvayaGuy: Yes we have tried an M7310 and the bottom indicators work fine for Internal Autodial. They do indicate when the user is off-hook. The CAP module on the M7324 works fine as well.

Any other ideas?

Dave

Only the top 3 keys on each side will work, the bottom 5 on each side will work for any other programming, as AvayaGuy said 8X24 thinks it's a 7310 and not a 7324 and the 7310 does not allow DSS programming as you want.

You need a KIM module but 8X24 will not support it.

You are out of luck!

Cheers

The sets are T7316 not E sets. I will try one and let you know.

Thanks,
Dave

It will not make a difference. A 8x24 can not tell the difference between a 7316, 7316e or a 7310. It's all the same, so no matter what you put there, it will always act the same.

We tried a T7316E today and it is the same thing.
I guess that's just the way it is. Our only other option would be to change out the T7316 sets for M7324.
