My background in programming is in Lucent/Avaya, but as a favor to a customer I became tangled up in a Norstar CICS installation. By default when the phones would ring and the customer picked up the handset, it would select and activate the call currently ringing. I recently added another T7316 and cannot find how to make it mimick the other phones functionality. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
quick fix:
copy the set like for like ...assign all the lines that u need rinigin on the phone

both under terminals and sets
 
Thanks for a quick reply, but I've already tried that to the customers dismay. It's slightly more complicated. When I copied the set, she called back in a couple days and said she didn't want the phone to ring, only to show by the indicator arrow that the line was ringing. And then began to explain that she would like to change this functionality on several phones in her office. At that point I should have said, "Contact your local Nortel Dealer", but I didn't. I said I would look into it and get the problem resolved. That was a week ago. What I think I really need is a specific application that will allow me to change whether the call can be answered by handset or by manually pressing the line button with the active incoming call. I'm not even confident that I have been sniffing around in the correct Feature ** category. Thanks again for the quick response earlier.
 
Ringing line preference (picking up a call just by picking up the receiver) can only be done if the set is programmed for that particular line to ring. If the line is "appear only" with no audiable ring you must pressthe button. There is no way to change this. If she wants to just pickup a ringing line without pressing a button that line must ring on the set.
 
So where do I go in programming to set the ringing line preference?
