A customer of ours has a BCM50. Today, the reception phone (ext. 221), a T7316, the message indicator red light started, and continued flashing. No messages in the mailbox.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Is the phone otherwise working? Have you swapped the phone to see if the issue stays with the port or the phone itself?

Sounds like someone used the send message feature. I think the code to view who sent is F65 and F#65 to delete it.

Going to customer site today. Will disable and enable the port. Already tried Feature#65. No luck.

Voice mail message from provider, message from another station or internal voice mail are the 3 options that will light up the light that I know of.

But thoes options will make the light be steady red. Not blink.

Then it must be an alternate DN for another mailbox (General Delivery?). How are they logging into it? When they F981, what is displayed on the screen?

Then the only time the light blinks is on a ring, reset the phone and /or system.

check the general delivery mailbox mailbox 100. there may be a message there.

Like cook said; only time it flashes is during a ring; MWI is always steady, wether from Telco or VM.

Could be a line assignment (appear only; something that bugs a lot of customers; why flash if it's not configured to ring??), an answer DN, hunt group; also if the cord is 4-pins, there might be some sort of voltage on pins 1 and 4. Saw that somewhere, an audio guy used second pair from a wall outlet to wire a 70 volts paging horn across 2 floors because of cement walls/ceiling; boy did I have fun finding that problem!
