MICS R6.1 software is due out early summer to support the new T7316E set and the KIM add-on. I assume the T7316E will also be available by then. Here is a little about it.
-The T7316E is a new set in Norstar. This device adds to the portfolio of Business Series Terminals.
-Each KIM ( Key Indicator Module ) when connected to T7316E provides for additional 24 keys for T7316E. This combined unit is called CAP ( Central Answering Position ).
New Features on T7316E
-Default Features
-Default Line and Hunt Group Assignment
-OA&M Navigation keys - the programming keys are moved to the top of the columns
-Audio Cluster with Mute key, Handsfree key (now between the other keys) and Headset key
-Icon support - all new icons for DND, CFW, ringing line, line in use, and Hold
-BLF support
New Features on KIM
-Multiple appearances of Target Line
-Multiple appearances of Hunt Groups
-Icon support
- support up to 9 KIM (with auxiliary power supply), and 4 (without auxiliary power supply).
- support up to 5 EKIM positions per KSU, and no limits on OKIM position.
It will be interesting to see if this works like they say it is supposed to, or will the field techs be beta testing this as well. The idea of a reception set with 216 additional keys is interesting.....
Sorry. I forgot to include the info on NRU-10 enhancements. The look of the program is quite different
1. Storing and Listing of customer Information
2. Scheduled backup/restore utility
3. Linking RSA, Backup-Restore, Remote Debug Tool and Browser tool with Customer Database
4. Linking OLP with Customer Database
5.· OLP changes for core features in CICS/MICS 6.1
6. DTA Desktop Assistant
The new version of Desktop Assistant has the labelling program for the new hardware and also for the maybe now defunct T7406
Sprucegrover,
Thanks for all that. I rather think the KIM will be in the same pattern as the unit for the 3900 series on M1.
Of course we'll be beta testing it... sometimes for years.
It looks a little like Rls 6.11 is going to be a significant change.
Sorry, not that I know of. The powerpoint doc was part of a technical presentation by Nortel. It was provided to our company and distributed by managers to their craft people.
If you want it and have an email address that will accept 10M, I can send it to you. But you will definitely need a broadband connection to download it.
Visualize if you can, downloading Internet Explorer 6.0 @ 56K
