Hello,

I have a customer moving into a new suite with existing cabling pinned out as 568B and want to put Nortel 3904 sets on these jacks. These cables terminate on a patch panel in the switchroom, so I would be using patch cables to connect my Nortel TN to the voice port to bring the phones online.

Will this be OK? Customer doesn't want to pull all new voice cable if they don't have to. I think it will work fine but want to cover myself.

Thanks!

It'll work fine. Just make sure that your using pins 4 and 5. You may also want to get some inserts that take the 8 pin jack opening and make it so a 4 or 6 pins line cord fits better. With out that you can have the line cord moving around and causing issues.
