Hi,

I have a IBM T40 laptop and so does 5-6 other people at work. We have noticed that sometimes the computer freezes.. Just for a couple of seconds ... where you can't move the windows around. Start/stop programs or barely type in f.ex. MS Word. The mouse works fine and on Windows 2000 you can start the taskmanager immediatly and this normally resolves the problem. On XP you just have to wait the 10-20 seconds it lasts.

What can it be?

HI

I have an IBM R30 and had a BSOD issue intermitantly. I recently downloaded from the microsoft update site a "IBM Thinkpad drivers" update and my problems have gone away!!

Worth a look!

Regarding your T40, use task manager and check what processes are running, eliminate application/utilities by stoping certain processes until you pin point which one is causing the issue. Because it is occuring frequently you should be able to nut it out!.

ALso make sure you have all your software updates and machine Bios updates.

regards

Bernard
