The new release of our faxing software that we use (Relayfax, if anyone's interested) is coming out soon, and has T38 faxing facilities in it, which would be great for me as I don't want to have to shell out for a dedicated fax card as the basic modems I'm using are causing more trouble than it's worth.

Our IPO500 is running v4.2, and I have a VCM card with 4 channels (only one is used for one IP phone). We don't have any SIP trunks (using ISDN as outbound connectivity).

I've attached the screenshot for the setup in Relayfax, and I know I'll have to change the IPO config, but not sure where to start!

You need to be on 5.0 to use sip clients
Then you also need a 3th party end point license
Then you czn use T.38

Ah.... starting to think it could be cheaper & less hassle to get the fax card to replace the modems with!!

IP endpoint licences are not much, upgrading is easy depending what else you're running and setting up SIP extns is also easy enough.

Just had a chat with our vendor. Quite pleased actually... It's cheaper than buying the fax card!!! Woohoo!

Looks like someone's going to look good in front of the Financial Controller later today :))

To give you a measure the licence alone is about £75 so anything over that is for their time and expertise :)

£75 is around what I was quoted (actually was a tiny bit less) Was advised to wait for the next release in a few weeks time, but that's ok... I'm on hols for a couple of weeks shortly, so that'll help me to bear the wait!
