We have a T1 that has a 6 channel hunt group setup by TelCo. When a called is placed to the number in the hunt group, you get silence then a dialtone, which is the dialtone off of our system. You can then dial extensions like you were sitting here using one of our phones.

TelCo says all 24 channels are setup the same. 10 of the channels have DID and they work fine. You can also place outgoing calls on all 24 channels without any problems.

We are having a hard time getting help from the company that installed system and are now trying to figure some of it out on our own.

Can anyone offer any assistance in nudging us in the right direction?

Thanks.

Your description is a little confusing; you state that the Telco says all 24 channels are set up the same, however, you then say that some channels are part of an incoming hunt group and some are DID, yet all are being used for outgoing. So perhaps you could be more specific as to how the Telco has the T1 set up. Are they all loop start, ground start, DID, Tie line or a combination of trunk types. Is your switch set up to match what the C.O. is sending you? If you have channels assigned as Tie Line, are they set for Standard or Compatable? Is there something in your DID setup that would point to the Remote Access?

If it is set up with 2 way DID's (TIE lines) the problem is with the Telco.
If they are not sending any DNIS digits to the Magix, then the Magix will send back dialtone. I would call your telco and ask them to verify they are sending the right amount of digits. If you have 3 digit extensions, then they should be sending 3 digits. But they don't go by how many digits to send, they go by how many digits to delete from the number you dialed, and depending if your area is set for 10 digit dialing or 7 digits, thier numbers to delete will vary. My guess is the person who programmed your numbers thought it was a 10 digit CO, and set it to delete 7 digits. With the reality being, the CO is a 7 digit system.
