I have a similar configuration to the one discussed in thread808-1143942. I have the link up on both sides and the trunks online but there seems to be a signalling mismatch. I have tried the configuration as described in the referenced thread without success. If I initiate a call from the Aspect side, it tries to sieze a trunk and fails. On the CS1000 side I see the trunk go busy but I do not receive any digits and the trunk stays busy. I am using a TMDI card on the CS1000 and an older DTIC card on the Aspect.

Since your span is up and the trunks online, it would appear that the framing is good - usually D4 AMI for an E&M span.

If the Aspect seizes a trunk and fails, it should be accompanied by an entry in the activity log for a 'trunk seize failure'. If so, it's an indication that the Aspect is not seeing a 'wink' from the Nortel. The Aspect will go off-hook and wait 5 seconds for the wink. If the wink doesn't happen, it will release the trunk.

The fastest way to confirm the events is to put a T1 tester on the span so you can monitor the signalling bits. You will know which end of the span is failing very quickly.

I am trying to borrow a test set to have a look at the signalling. In the mean time I have continued to play with the setup and have more info.

When I call out from a cs1k phone I can reach a default message from the Aspect set up for when it can't deal with the incoming digits (it doesn't see any, although my ld 80 trace on the channel shows them going out). When I call from an aspect phone I see the channel go busy on the trace but no digits and no physical tn associated.

Looks like we have it sorted. The initial config on the CS1000 was missing some items, such as DTRs. As we were trying to emulate an analog trunk, we needed something to receive the digits. On an older system this would have been a given but the new platform expects digital or IP trunks.

Thanks.
