i have three magixes connected by t1 pri...when a t1 link is down, how do i make sure that my magix t1 module is up and running? is there a local loopback test that i can run by winspm remotely from my laptop? pls help with this one as the t1 carriers are always pointing to the pbx's as culprits...

Check the FAQ, you can make a loopback plug and do a csu loopback test in Maintance. As well, you can go to {{the unsaid}} and trace the lines. Check error logs. A loopback plug is a rj45 plug with a wire going from pins 1-5 and 2-4. There is more to do but the faq will go through the rest.

I've been fighting the same battle for over a year now. When the T1 goes down, I have someone go up stairs and check the status of the smartjack before I go out there. Alot of the time, it shows no lights at all, which can't be the fault of the PBX. Let me ask, when your's goes down for any extended peroid of time, do you have to reboot one end to get them to sync back up? Where does your system get it's timing from? I have a two site setup, so it's simpler for me. The main unit is set to local, and the remote to loop.

1. to jinxs - can i have the details on running the loopback test pls...

2. to fsoz - i never reboot, reset/busy/restore usually do the trick...my sync signal to all sites comes from the loop...

The Magix is a bit more sensitive than the Legend when it comes to PRI. It will busy out the card if it sees the span go down. Like, iskilam said, you then have to reset and restore the card.
