Hi all

I normally work in the UK and have no issues in setting up E1 ISDN cards with the IPO, I'm interested to know with the T1 card can you just "plug n play" or do you have to configure the card? as I notice the options for T1's are a lot different to E1 cards

Thanks in advance

Michael

You need to know if it is a real T1 or a PRI as most of the connections in North America are probablt PRI with 23 b-channels and 1 d-channel from there it goes on with the programming. Find out which one you need to know

What Westi said. In addition T-1s can be provisioned as Tie, emulated loop start, emulated ground start or everyones favorite PRI.

Plug and play yes. Plug and play and able to guess which T1 to provision for and auto program it for you...no.

You have to know what the provider is providing you. Fortunately most new setups are PRI-NI2-23b. A small amount to setup.

Yeah, The E1 in the UK is a good thing it's just E1 card out the box into the IP Office, patch it into the NTE ...it works :)

We don't discard anything old except for seniors. We simply force compatibility with the new. Like forcing granny NOT to hit Yes to every popup.

Well I suppose that if it were easy then I would have nothing to do.

it is easy, it is digital, it either works or it won't :)
Most of the settings for PRI can be left alone and it will work as well, just change from T1 to PRI and those are the most comon settings already done for you I rarely have to touch them, except if the customer ordered something funky from the line provider instead of a PRI
