We have an 81c/Symposium/Plant-CML VESTA system with a T1 card QPC720E connected to a Lucent 5ESS VCDX. The T1 is used for DID and outbound 5 digit dialing to our City switch. Can QSIG or other signalling be added to provide caller ID between the two?

When we upgrade to CS1000, does the QPC720 becomes unusable? If we install a NT5D12 dual port now, can it also be used by the CS1000?

Just want to confirm my limited knowledge of the PRI channels. If we equip both ports for PRI, would you recommend inbound/outbound for both or split up their function?

Can we specify that one DID can have three active calls, another DID can have 8 active calls etc?

We handle about 3,000 calls per day at our 9-1-1 PSAP.

Many thanks!

Jim

If I recall the QPC720 will not even fit in the slots

you can use nt5d12 version ag or ah only. The qpc720 must be replaced as well as any earlier version of the nt5d12. You will need a d channel card for the pri. With a 5ess you can use national (nortel ni2). Don't really understand what you are asking about number of calls by DID, but you can do a call by call type route (cbct) and limt the number of channels that each service route can use.
