Our voice T1 from AT&T keeps going down or giving busy signals. We only use it for 800 service. The local lec blames old copper in the area. So my question is this, is there any monitoring software that will tell us when our T1 goes down or is giving customers a fast busy ?

What sort of telephone system do you have? Does it have a history log that will keep track of when the T1 drops?

Sometimes it is possible to have the service provider send incoming calls to copper POTs lines if a T1 circuit fails. The provider would also be able to run a traffic study to see if there is any service blocking going on (when all 24 channels.....or 23 for ISDN/PRI are in use).
