We have newly switched from analog lines to T1.
My understanding is that for T1 you can get 24 lines (not 23+1) but with the system I have there is a T1 installed but I have only 23 lines.
can anyone please give me a clear idea about this.

Thanks,

IF YOU ONLY HAVE 23 CHANNELS OF VOICE YOU MUST LIKELY HAVE AN ISDN PRI T1, THE 24 CHANNEL A DATA CHANNEL USED FOR CALL SETUP

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Thanks for the fast reply,
But our order was a T1 not PRI we didn't pay for the PRI
Is it possible that there was a mistake in programming the lines (one was forgotten) I tried to add a new one to them but couldn't.

When you look in programming under Hardware what does it show the card as T1 or PRI? If it is marked as PRI then it will not let you add that channel, it is automatically asigned as a D-channel.

thanks all
it was PRI after all (the order was changed somehow!!)
