I have an old IPS that recently has been having issues with CCIS to 2 locations. One location is older - IVS or IVSII. The cards going to that system are the 24 DTI with SC00. The other location is another IPS using a CCTA card. IN the past it has always been the circuit, but lately after having ATT out here doing extensive testing on the circuits, we can't say that is the case.
If you pull out the CCTA card to the other IPS, the 24 DTI/SC00 location works great and has not problems. We figured this out by just chance. I am not sure if it would work the opposite way if we pulled the 24 DTI/sc00 combo...
The main system has 2 PRI cards, 1 is not in operation.. circuit canceled.. and the CCIS cards. I tried replacing the CCTA card today and it didn't work. About an hour after I left both sites went down. They reset the pbx and both sites came back up which is not surprising. The last time we reset the PBX, both sites came on and then dropped about and 1.5 hrs later.
I believe we can rule out the csu/dsu's as being an issue.... I am wondering if maybe there is some kindof clocking issue or resource issue going on.
I have both the CCTA and the DTI/sc00 in right now, but I have the PRI card that is not in use pulled out..

Looking for some ideas.

I pulled out the PRI card that is not in use just as a test on resources, clocking, etc...

Sounds like you have a clocking issue. The PRI that is no longer in use, was that the one providing clocking from telco?
The clock source (PRI) needs to be in PIM 0, and the switch settings...SW0, 1 = on, 2 = off = primary clock source. A reset re-syncs, however it will in time drift and lose connectivity.

The Primary and in service PRI is in PIM 0. The PRI not in use was in PIM 1. The cards I have issue with (CCIS cards) are in PIM 0.
Wasn't there some kindof rule about multiple cards in a pim. Like the 1st card sw0 1 need to be on and the rest off..... Goes to what you are referring to clock source.
It is just weird that after years and years of working, all the sudden, it doesn't want to work. Maybe carrier changed clocking on the T1 circuits from master to slave? that's a stretch.... but I wouldn't put it passed them......

If you want to use a secondary clock should the primary fail, set SW0, 1= off, 2 = on. We used to go with 1 primary SW0 1= on, 2 = off and any additional circuits both off. Another option, although I never was a fan of this, is to use an Adtran CSU/DSU as the primary clock source. More and more carriers are moving past PRI circuits to SIP. They bring the service in as SIP and add a "box" on the wall to convert it to TDM/PRI. So now your clock source is from their "box" on the wall.

Heading out there now.. I am going to see what everything is set for.

I think it is a clocking issue... But not in the pbx. I looped the CCTA card using a cat 5 jack. With all cards in the cabinet, nothing has stopped working. I think either the CSU/DSU on the CCTA card is bad or clocking is messed up on the circuit from carrier.
