I am changing from POTS lines to a PRI. I bought a T1 card on Ebay that was described as having the built in CSU/DSU. How Can I tell if it actually has it builtin? The card says 100D 1 DS1 trunk on the front lable. On the top of the clasmshell there is ba lable that says AT&T 517B15.

Did I get what I thought I was buying? or is it the standard T1 card

Is there a way to tell from system inventory or via Win SPM or my console.

Is there a way to test the card without having my PRI active.

Hope someone can shed some light on this for me

Thanks in advance, you guys have been a big help already

That is just a T-1 card. The 100R has the built in CSU/DSU and a firewall. The 100R card has 4 RJ45 ports and 5 or so LEDS.If you aren't breaking off data you can get away without the CSU

The 100 R is the INA card, with wuilt in CSU/DSU and built in Router. The 100 DCD is the T-1 card with built-in CSU/DSU.

Thanks, I guess I still got a deal, only paid $137 for the card.

Any recomendations on a DSU? I need to get this up and running pretty quickly.

BTW, I have Legend R7 processor

Thankx

Who is your service providor/vendor?

Most of the ones I deal with here don't require a csu/dsu.

My provider is MCI. They have not been any help in the hardware side

Only reasy I asked was that for almost all of these I have implemented, the vendor mounts a box that has both the Eithernet and the T1 coming out of it, and it's right next to the Telephone System. Thus, a CSU/DSU is not needed.

Sounds like that is NOT what you are getting.

Avaya/Paradyne 3160 comes to mind, but I am sure there are others.

Thanks. When they installed the PRI, They just put in a RJ-45
