Hello All,
I have to extend a T1 Circuit from the demarc room, out to an IDF wiring closet, approx. 400 feet away. I am thinking of using T1 Cable, 22 AWG, 2 pair shielded for the cable run, and terminating it in the IDF on a RJ48X jACK.
any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

400 feet is within spec (with 655' the theoretical max) - and you're using the correct cable. May need to change the Xmit/Recv levels in CSU and Smartjack.

Consult the documentation for the CSU you are using for your installation for setting proper equalization of LBO and levels, and any other options required. That way you will have optimum performance, in addition to using the CORRECT cable!

Or have the Telco/Provider extend the dmarc. There will be a charge. But that puts the performance issues on them.
