hi, my problem is with this T1, doesn't have ring back and the carrier said that this have to be done from the pbx.
I'm not sure about this.
the config is:
t1
esf
8bzs
answer Disa N
Auto answer: Y
WINKSTAR
E&M CHANELS CONFIG

WE RECEIVE INCOMING CALLS AND WE CAN DO OUTGOING CALLS, BUT NO RING BACK ON THE CALLERS.
THAN YOU

There's no ring back from your switch its a carrier problem. You can't control what the outside hears when they dialing your No.Its beyond your switch.IF you can receive call on DNIS and route the calls correctely to the correct DN (using Target lines or matching the DN no.)and you can make out side calls then you system is ok. I will check again with the provider and let them fix the problem.

Good Luck.

Ok, that's what I figure, but since the carrier was adopting this position (Was not their fault), I thog was my mistake.
Ok, Thank for your help.

If the trunk is set set to auto answer then the Norstar is answering the line. At that point the carrier has handed the call over. If the trunk is to ring at a reception phone for example then set auto answer to off and have the line appear & ring at reception. You indicated this is T1 not PRI in which case the trunks 1 to 24 can be programed just like a regular line. Is this a T1 or PRI?

He can't set auto answer to off, because he receiving digits (DNIS) to route the calls to the ext.that's usually the case with T1 ,EM winkstart ,DNIS.So if he turn off the auto answer the caller will hear a busy tone instead of ringing on the location.

E&M are tie trunks. The application in this case seems to be a T1 to bring outside lines to the switch which can be treated exactly the same as regular lines. As long as it is not PRI. I think we may need more information on the application of the T1.

I know what E&M stand for .Most of the installtion (in the States)with T1 and EM usually they use DNIS to route the calls ,and if you look at his programming he has Auto answer set to yes and he mentioned that he can receive calls. If the provider does't send DNIS and he has Auto answer set to yes he will never receive calls. We can ask for more information it will not hurt.
If you want to know what I know you can look at my website at.

I think we will need more info from VIPE. DNIS is not an option for an E&M trunk set to Auto Ans. For DNIS to be used the ans mode is manual. The DNIS digits are for the use of third party equipment. A previous post by VIPE indicated the problem is with incoming 800 calls.

Rob,

Once you set the trunk for auto answer it will receive the digits that the provider send you (DNIS)the provider usually call that T1 ( 4 wire EM winkstart)(two way DID)it means that the provider send a block of Numbers ,and you can route that by having the trunks set for auto answer and use target lines (receive digits matching the block)like PRI.I know you don't have a title under EM for DNIS but that the way it works. But if the provider just configure it as EM only then you can treat them like a normal line and you set the trunk answer to no ,but in most cases they configured it for (TWO WAY DID).I hope that clear the issue a little bit.

Hi, I'm sorry about this delay, but exacly it is a T1, with E&M cHanels config , DNIS (4 last digits of 800 numbers) and ANI information for CID. but the funny thin is that all this 800 numbres are programmed to ring in a hunt group so if call come in the hunt group will take the calls, and this work only in autoanswer is set to yes. but again calls come in and ring fine at the hunt group , and no ring back for callers just dead air.
I trayed to set the autoanwer to N but it does ring at the hunt group, and no more station. after a time it goes to the primary station.
This is not a PRI is a regular T1, I just received the DINS form the carrier and this match the Rec # on the target lines.
Thank you, (I'm still not geting the ring back on the chanels) What I did was to set the answer time to 1 for calls to be ringing at the hunt group.

If you receiving digits (DNIS) then you must set the trunks to auto answer and route the calls using traget lines with the received digits. If you receving the calls and it rings the phones or the hunt group then your programming is correct and as I mentioned before I think the problem with provider.Just for test only do you have ANI enabled on these lines(under tie lines ,ANI set to NO) if you do turn them off and try again maybe it will help. Please let us know the results.

Good Luck.

Thank gays, for help me out.
Ok, I will try that with the "ANI" number,(every thing else is fine, I mean every thing match the carrier and the traffic on calls are fine no error, is just that (there is no ring back for callers) At this point I don't know if the ANI is set to ON, but as soon as get to the place I will let you know .
also, I forgot to mention that I istalled a SMDR for ttarced the calls, and the info is received fine on the system the DNIS is fine the target lines also fine, etc.
ThanK you.
