if I have my area codes all going over the same rout, and the first entry contains my DID rout and the second entry contains my copper (POTS?) rout, then the first path calls will go OUT on is the T1, correct? so the callers will only call OUT on the copper if either all twenty-four channels (no PRI) are busy, or if the T1 is down, right? if my main number ports over the T1 and the T1 is down, how will i get calls IN? (customers trying to call). thank you.

YOU COULD HAVE THE PHN CO. RT CALLS TO COPPER WHEN T1 GOES DOWN.

when you say have the phone co. point the main # to copper, how do i find out each telephone number associated with each copper TN? And if i somehow do find that out, and give AT&T the first tel. # of the first copper TN, does the second incoming call automatically roll to the second one? (this website is the greatest thing since sliced bread!)

I don't know if it is the same where you are but here I dial 520-1111 on each line and tell's me what the number is I'm calling from. Than you need the local phone company to over flow calls to your T1 to the first copper line and have them put all the copper lines in a rotory hunt.

thank you for your answer, but if these are TRUNK TNs where am i supposed to install a telephone set to get the number? Do you understand what I'm saying? There's no jacks, they're just TNs in a rout. Am i being clear? because i am quite confused. thank you acewarlock!

a simple way would be to trace back the wires from the TN to the Dmark (telco drop) and most of the time the nu. are marked on the telco block. or set up a Maint phone ( MTA )in the pbx (you need to know the spre code which might be 1) and you could log in through the set and grap a trunk and call out. hope this helps
