Is it possible to dial a access code on CCM, and send the call over a specific T1? Or maybe something like a maintenance set to send the call over a specific channel?

I'm tech trying to help someone setup a TIE line to a Nortel PBX, and confirmed via T-BERT there is no problem on the Nortel side. When I asked the Cisco guy to make the call, he said it can't be done. Is this true?

Usually the connection between Nortel and CCM is done through a PRI with QSig signaling. The Nortel switch is capable of being the 'office' side of the connection. There are instructions outlining how this is done and specific programming for both ends on Cisco.com.

As for Call Routing, definitely you can select what T-1 the calls exit the system. It can be done with an access code or just pointing certain dialed digits to be sent to specific gateway ports.

The route on the CCM had to be cycled and it started working.

I'm not 100% the Cisco guy knows what he's doing. How do I explain to him how to use an access code, since he doesn't think it's possible..

What version CCM? As far as Access Codes, you can do a 9.@ Route Point and point it to one Gateway and an 8.@ RP and point to a different Gateway. The 9 and 8 become your Access Codes. If you need longer Access Codes you can make a RP with 56789.@ discard digits, pre-dot and 56789 becomes the Access Code. If you are talking about Authorization codes, where a user diales 9.1XXXXXXXXXX and is prompted for an AuthCode, it depends on your version of CCM. Auth Codes came in CCM 4.1.3 I believe.

I'll pass on your your info. Thanks.....
