We had an issue at a site I hadn't seen before. Nortel was aware of one or two instances like it but had no clear fix.
We replaced an existing 6x16 DR5 with a CICS 6.1 MR and CP100. After the cut and replacement of the M series phones with the new T sets. Customer was not happy with the fact that they could hear themselves in the earpiece.
It turned out that the system was setup for Sys receiver volume instead of Set. Once we changed it and went around to turn all the phones down a bit, the problem was reduced. As a default we use set based volume, but for some reason this one didn't get programmed that way.
Just wanted to get this out to anyone hearing this from users they support.
