I am in the process of converting switching from a T-1 to a PRI so we can get outgoing caller id. The T-1 is with Global Crossing. We have a bank of numbers for it for DID(227-4200 thru 227-4299) we strip the first 3 digits and any number that doesn't have a corresponding ext. goes to the operator. Now when converting to a SBC PRI we sucessfully turned it up with their end showing B and D channels up, but whenever I try to dial an outgoing # I get a standard # you are trying to reach, area code etc. etc. is being checked for trouble, but no matter what I dial it gives the local area code. I believe I have correctly setup the system to send all digits and I have tried dialing 7, 10, and even 11 digits but all get the same. We also get that same message when dialing in. We got the message with the test number, then I had our vendor port 1 number over to see if that would work, but we get the same results. I hava looked all over this forum and tried all the recommended settings and nothing has worked. PLEASE HELP!

Since the recording is coming from SBC, they will know what errors that particular recording corresponds to. Give them a call.

Thanks, I followed your PRI cheat sheet after starting from scratch and it seems to be working. They tried porting over the numbers but SBC has them porting to switch 12 and our PRI is on switch 11? Anyway I was wondering if anyone could help me with DID on the PRI our ext. are in the 4200 range so if I strip the first 3 digits recieved the incoming info will match up with an ext. I also have the option of having SBC send only 4 digits, will this work on a legend? And if it will, do I need to change any programing to make the calls go to the matching ext.? Thanks again for your help.

The T-1 was already doing this, but I don't recall how it was setup (4 digits or 7 digits) and Global Crossing isn't all that cooperative now to give us their T-1 setup info. I think I recall having to strip 3 digits, but that was years ago. Any chance it will work if I just leave it alone?

Hi Ghostin, thanks for the pdf file, very cool. Appreciate very much.

If your extensions are 4 digits, then the simplest thing to do is to have them send you 4 digits. It makes admin a whole lot simpler.

ghostin, thanks for this pri setup doc. it saved my tail on getting one going this wkend! the system was networked back to a definity and there were more changes than i thought to change it to a pri from a provider.

thanks again, tim

I'm Interested in obtaining a copy of Gostin's PRI Document but the link doesn't work for me. Can someone help. Also I'm going to port T1 and POTS telephone lines over to PRI. Any info on this? WHat do I need to do? what does Bell need to do?

Attitude is everthing.
