I have a customer with a Nortel 6.0 MICs system. They have a t-1 which the main number rings into then rolls over to thru t-1. when T-1 is working system works great. But They have expereienced a down t-1 3 times in 2 months. I am looking for suggestions on how to have a back up plan to Pots lines already in the system The problem is it takes the phone compnay over a hour to foward the main number to the pots. Is there a way to to dierct main number calls to pots lines when T-1 is down automatically??? Help

Thanks, Sorry for being so long winded.

depending on where you are and on your telco, SBC/Ameritech offers a feature CLAR (Customer Location Alternate Routing) that is a pre-set alternate routing, ie. you end up paying a monthly charge but when you need it you call up and activate routing plan 1 that re-directs your number to another line.

check with your telco to see if they offer anything similar
