Dear Techies,
I have come across a weird issue. We have an AD 2003 domain spanning several sites. We have sites and services configured with all subnets etc. The issue we have been having is that clients are getting SYSVOL referrals to servers in different AD sites, causing logon performance issues.
I have enabled site costed referrals as per MS article:
However, having restarted all DCs and allowing over 48 hours, clients are still getting SYSVOL referrals of various, random AD sites instead of the authenticating DC.
Does anyone have any idea why? It just doesn’t make any sense to me that a client logging on to the AD network, would be authenticated by a DC in site A, but would get a SYSVIL referral to site B.
Regards.
Michael
