SystemsDirector and real time HW errots monitoring

Guys

Can IBM Systems director with Common Agent on AIX 5.3 can be used to monitor in real time hardware/software errors as they appear in AIX error logs?

If no ,then is there any alternative way ( beside shell scripting)?

I have explored systems Director not in much depth , but it seems to me that it has to run inventory process to detect HW errors ( or filesystem full events )...Can we configure SNMP agent on AIX to send traps to systems Director as soon as HW/SW errors appear on AIX?

Please guide!!

If you are using HACMP, then HACMP can be configured to send emails on specific events!
