How can one make hotkey which should be responded by application even when it's not active(i.e. minimized to system tray)

That's a cool tip whosrdaddy. One of the other programs I've seen also uses a hook; can you explain what a hook is and why you would use one (other than this problem)?

Hi leslie,

global hooks are commonly used to monitor system wide events. these events are various : keyboard events, mouse events, debug events,etc...
why using them? normally hooks are often used for debugging purposes. viruses are also often active at this level

if you want to find out more about hooks, m$ has a nice site called MSDN :

here you'll find all the info...

Cheers,
Daddy
