I have a few systems but only a small percent of our total systems here that get stuck on Preparing Network Settings... while booting.
I have found that if I take the network cable out and restart the PC it will boot to the logon and at that time I plug the cable back in.
I then can sign in and work.
I have tried DHCP "uses static IP now", different network card and nothing works.
If I remove the network card and boot without it it is OK.
All of our systems were upgraded to Win2Ksp4 this last weekend and may have something to do with it.
However we have had this problem before and it mysteriously disappeared.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
