Avaya IP 500 V2 R9.1, system status gives error under Alarms>Service>Memory Utilization:Near Capacity.
Anyone knows what this error means and how to fix it ?

It's either a fault or it means it's dancing so much it's got smoke under its feet.

Do you heavily use voicemail to email, voicemail, AA ports, or record all calls, IP phones on PSTN trunks? Things like that?

Almost certainly users not deleting messages (or group messages that no one knows about)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

In Manager does File - Advanced - Embedded File Management help?

Check in System Status -> Voicemail -> Mailboxes and you'll see if you have a silly amount of messages somewhere.
You can also see memory usage under Resources.

I have also seen a few times where a single voicemail file was way bigger then it should be. Like 10x or bigger then a normal voicemail file. Usually when this is the case though you won't be able to even leave more voicemail but its possible its big enough to flag the issue but not big enough to cause the system to not allow anymore voicemail.

They use VMPro no embedded VMail , could this cause this error ?

If think that no deleted messages in embedded causes an different alarm

This looks more like a config that is to big.

Config is about 130 users, size of the config is 253kB so this can't be the cause.
I'll check the memory usage today.

used mem is 66885 KB
free mem is 5658 KB

How many groups and ICR are there? They count more than users (especially groups) when it comes to config size :)

What does the Configuration Used say?

Might be interesting to know which IPO version you're on, an upgrade might not be a bad idea.

253kB and the limit is 2048kb, so it's just another bullshit SSA alarm by the looks of it :)

After upgrade to service pack 8 error is gone
