SETUP

1 SBS 2000 Server acting as the PDC
1 STD 2000 Server acting as second DC
1 STD 2003 Server member server file and print
1 STD 2000 Server with Exchange 2003

Situation:

System State got corrupted and there is not backup. I ran kb/258062 and confirm that the database is corrupted.

What are my options here? I know I can't remove the PDC cause it is a SBS 2000. If I start over and build from scratch then what about exchange. Should exporting inboxes using Exmerge do the trick and start from scratch and then import. What about all the AD setups, containers, users and rules? The only thing I haven't done in the kb/258062 article is the last step, which is a loosy repair of the database.

Since I can't log in to the PDC does promoting the STD 2003 server box work? No if the PDC is offline right?

Even if I could then Exchange makes it more interesting. Help! No sure which route to take and which is the shortest way to take back control.

Regards,
