I am a unix guy struggling in a windowed world.

The error I see in the job log is
Access denied to directory \System Files.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

I am logged in as administrator. What do I need to do to make this error message disappear and supposedly get the system state backed up?

I don't see "\System" when I browse with explorer.

SYSTEM STATE is not viewable such as a directory, it is a part of the configuration needed in case of server crash (such as registry in Windows NT4).
I think it only works if your server is W2K, for NT4 you should use the old "registry" keyword.

So that's totally normal if you don't see it as a directory.

If your client is W2K you should try to take a look at the account used for backups. You can find it in the "Services Section", try to set it either to "localsystem" either to an administrator account.

What??

Ok so maybe I need to see if the backup service is running as a backup administrator rather than as the Administrator.

BTW this is a backup of the local system disk. There shouldn't be any access problems since this operation never touches the network or another system.

Thanks
