I need some help. The problem is very strange.

Environment:
We are running DB2 8.1 FP-3 on AIX 5.1. We have a external
vendor's application [we cannot control it] which talks to DB2.

Problem:
The application runs fine for 2 or 3 days. But after that
the swappping goes on increasing and when it reaches
97-98%, no body can log in and the system will be almost
frozen.

Current Solution:
Then we bring down the applications and bounce the DB2
database engine and then everything will be alright. Is
there anything [memory leak] with the applications or DB2.

Any ideas as to why this is happenening.

I appreciate any valuable inputs/suggestions in this
regard.

Thanks

Gbag,

We experienced something like that on the client side when reading BLOBs.
Does that apply to you ?

That time the solution was to put the 3GB memory switch.
We expected the problem not to be solved but moved to a later point in time - but it did not occur again afterwards.

Thanks Juliane. We are not using any blobs.
What is the memory switch. Is it a DB2 configuration or ..
Thanks for your help.
