Recently I notice that when I am using the internet on a standalone PC at home, the McAfee virus scan/Vshield (version 5.21) starts the system scan when I visit some of the websites (usually ones with dynamically-generated pages), even though when I click on the system scan properties, it says that the system scan is disabled--- but it is clear from the status screen that the scan is running. The annoying thing is that this slows my computer down quite a lot while the scanning takes place.
I have tried the McAfee support site and it doesn't seem to mention anything about this. I wonder if this is a standard "feature" of VShield or if some of the websites are triggering off the scan? Is there a way to stop this?
