Will system restore remove my infection of spyware and trojan or will i have to just reformat b/c everything i have tried in the spyware forum has not helped even FAQ's!

Systen Restore may or may not help you - and most likely would not.

Try running SpyBot, Adaware, and your Anti-virus Software in Safe Mode - that may help.

What exactly have you tried? What spyware do you have? It's generally always possible to fix, though some are harder to remove than others.

System Restore can be a double edged sword. It may restore your system to a previous point in time but it only restores certain files and not every file, it therefore may leave some lurking infection. Also it is also likely that it will restore infected files that you have already cleaned. This is why after confirming any infection you should turn off System Restore and thus purge all the old (infected?) restore points from your system. Restart it after your system is clean.

And lots of help here.

Probably because you restored to a point prior to infection. If you can verify when you were infected (and that your last restore is prior to this) then it may very well fix the problem...but this isn't a catch all and could cause more trouble in the future (restoring a virus or other malware that you had beaten previously).
