System Restore Does not make changes

I tried to restore my system 4 times.

Each time after the restore process completes, I get a message saying no changes were made. I thought that if there had been no system changes made this might be the way the restore would act so I tried a restore that was to a point before I loaded some software. I got the same message and the software is still accessable.

Can anyone help please?

System Restore monitors the registry and key system (Windows system) files, and is not anywhere close to a complete system reversion utility.

It is likely the software you installed did not make monitored changes to the registry or system files.

Consider, as one example of a complete system reversion system, the Symantec (formerly Roxio) GoBack utility. You can find fairly easily copies of SystemWorks 2003 for around US $7-$9 on ebay and the internet that includes GoBack.
