I am developing a somewhat complex report that uses 22 formulas, 13 of which reside in the Detail band. Any time I try to preview this report, it locks up the server at 100% utilization and won't release the lock even after I abort. The database I am using is Centura SQL, which is similar to SQL Server.

Any ideas?

mikemund: 22 formulas should have no effect on your report at all, I've designed reports with hundreds in before. I suggest that you try incerementally placing the formulas on your report and previewing - this should identify which formula in particular is causing the lock David C. Monks
