Something happened to my lpd printers!! When I attempt to do an lp this is the result.

pmg01 # lp -dpq1 /.profile
request id is pq1-786
lp: connect: Connection refused
jobs queued, but cannot start daemon.

Thanks

Brandt

What is the entry in
Code:
 /etc/printcap
for pq1 ?
What is the result of
Code:
 rlpstat pq1
?
What is the result of
Code:
 ps -fe | grep lpd
?
Can another machine print to this printer ?
What have you tried so far ?

or lpstat -t
to see the status and devices.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

There are about 30 lpd printers on this box. Yesterday all would print today none will print

Yes other machines can print to these printers

pmg01 # ps -fe | grep lpd
root 345 1 0 15:25:10 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/lpd
root 6924 6873 3 20:02:47 ttyp0 00:00:00 grep lpd

Thanks ALL!!

Rebooted a second time all OK!!

Thanks

Brandt
