System phone displays too many digits from adjunct dialing

Attached to a Partner 34D system phone, I have a plantronics headset which has a dial pad on the amplifier. If I dial from the Plantronics dial pad, calls go through correctly, but the system phone displays extra digits. For example, if I dial 1 800 325 3535, it might show on the display as 1 8800 3225 33535 (spaces added for clarity.)

Redial from the 34D won't work, of course, because the 34D thinks I dialed all those extra digits.

Any idea what's happening, and how to fix? Not a big deal.

Hi jlshelton,
Noisy dial pad buttons? The system is detecting your digits are it hears them. Try another phone, doesn't have to be the same type.

I can't see how the call would go through properly if the dialpad were sticking. Have you tried it with another phone and extension just to see what happens?

Hi Hal,
Easy, the TTR's in the Partner are reacting faster than the far away whatever switch. Seen it before on an old 2500 set. Could dial out but couldn't dial internal extensions. Neat huh? That's why I suggested to try another SLP phone.
