Hi all,

My apologies for this question, but where does AIX store the maxuproc parameter value? It's not in the /etc/tunable files. When the system reboots, will the new value take effect?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Michael, have you tried a keyword search in this forum for maxuproc - there's some useful info, including the new info. (to me anyway) that a reboot is only required when decreasing maxuproc. HTH.

This parameter is stored as an attribute of "device" sys0 in the ODM database - and yes, a change lives on accross a reboot.

You can change it with smit fastpath "smit chgsys"

HTH,
