Doing a little Googling, I'm gathering that the the Service Director is just analying your log files to see if there is a problem that it will have to report to IBM. The feature is basically set up to contact IBM directly for fixes, or other maintenance related problems.
If I remember correctly this is an option you have to enable or disable after upgrading to a new version or new system. In just about all cases we've disabled it, as we have 1. a simple setup and 2. an ASP to log in and handle our trouble calls...
