When the comapny was formed 3 years ago it was called "AAA"
now the company is called "ZZZ". In the IP office manager in system configuration the NAME is "AAA". Can and or should I change it to ZZZ? What are the consequences?
The reason for this question is that I would like the name ZZZ to appear on the display of the receiving called person and I think this is where the name comes from? Thank you people for being there, I would be a mess with this system w/out you.
 
You will have to talk to your provider to change the outgoing caller ID name.
The name in the system is just for administration reasons.
 
Changing the name of the IP Office in Manager will not have any impact on the name displayed on their outbound calls. This is controlled by the telco.

The telco will not be providing a name though.

I would suggest you have a huntgroup name AAA and your incoming calls are pointing to this and flagging up on the phones.

Check the following area.
Huntgroups.
Directory entries.
System Name - You may or may not wish to change this.

Be aware, if you have a huntgroup called AAA and you chabge this to ZZZ it is going to build a new mailbox. If you use mailbox or a VMPro module for this hunt group its going to no function/play default greetings.

If this is presenting outbound to called parties, then you need to get them to change your details on their systems.

From his question it sounded as if he was referring to outbound calls not inbound.
