is a free tool that can be hacked to monitor a system, and even to generate alarms, but it needs quite a lot of work to maintain and you would have to write your own scripts to collect the data. Annihilannic.
Do you have any compaq systems running sco?
part of the compaq efs is cpqmon which is an updated version of u386mon which doesn't have to be initialized with the kernel.
Do you have SCO Doctor ? I can recommend it.
Also I use many years u386mon. Do not remember where I found it, can send copy, think freeware. When run under OSR 5.0.5 or 5.0.6 gives core on exit, but except this works perfect. I use it daily.
Stankow,
Now it is a mess with ftp servers of SCO/Caldera/SCO Group,
but I check - ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/skunkware/osr5/bin/
could be opened and there is u386mon to download !
=============================
Where can i find u386mon for OpenServer ?
The u386mon README is at :
ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/Skunk2/CD-ROM/src/Tools/u386mon-2.74/README.html
The u386mon and nlsym binaries are available via:
ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/skunkware/osr5/bin/
The binaries need to be "setgid mem" :
# chgrp mem u386mon nlsym
# chmod 2755 u386mon nlsym
First, run nlsym as root.
You should then be able to run u386mon as a normal user. Of course, you can restrict permissions if you like.
The source for u386mon is available via :
ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/Skunk2/CD-ROM/src/Tools/u386mon-2.74/
