Hi

I have a Database running on our network (through Windows NT.)
Every now and again when the user tries to double-click the icon to run the DB, the error message 'couldn't use \\london\applications\TIME2000\system.mdw file already in use'
I've asked our system administrator to try deleting the system.ldb file but he won't allow to do so.
Is this an Access problem? or is it because Access doesn'r run well through Windows NT?
It always refreshes itseld the next day, but obviosuly becomes rather annoying!

Cheers

I had a similar problem this past week. I solved it by having the users point to their own SYSTEM.MDW file that the Access Runtime setup program installed instead of the SYSTEM.MDW sitting on the NT server.

Good luck,
tlister

Create a drive mapping to the directory where the System.mdw file resides on your Server, for each of the workstations and ensure that "the Connect on log on" option button is checked so that every time each work station starts it automatically re-establishes network connection.

This file defines user accounts and access rights and if you use what is defined by default by MS Acess you may have problems running certain restricted options in your program.
