I run a number of scheduled tasks overnight to generate reports for our manufacturing business. The tasks run VB code in Access. The tasks run on a NT4 SP6a PC on a Novell platform. I have been doing this for a year or so with no problems until I created and scheduled my latest creation. When this new job runs I get the following error: Can't open database c:\WINNT\System32\system.mdw. This file is present and it is not corrupted as I can trigger the scheduled task manually and it works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a file permission problem... Whatever service account is running the scheduled process does not have adequate permission tot he MDW file. I bet when you trigger it manually it runs in the context of the logged in user.

That's my best guess.

Thanks for your suggestion, lameid, but that is not the answer as I am the logged in user in both cases and have admin rights over the whole system.
