When adding a new Platform with SMGR's SDM, for the Platform FQDN or IP field, is it recommended to use FQDN versus the IP Address of the host? I've tried both ways and keep getting errors.
And have already re-generated new certs for the ESXi hosts and added the body of their certs into SMGR's keystore (TM_OUTBOUND_TLS and Import as PEM certificate)
What am I missing aside from DNS, I have added the ESXi entries in my hosts file on my laptop, so technically I should be able to use FQDN, but error still says> Retrieving host certificate info is failed: The server "server.lab.test" does not exist. Please check the IP address/FQDN
When using the IP Address, error says> Retrieving host certificate info is failed: The certificate received from "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" was issued for a different server. Secure communication cannot be established from Solution Deployment Manager to systems where the host IP/FQDN does not match the details in the security certificate. You may need to re-generate the certificate on your system to correctly match the host details or connect with the FQDN of the system rather than the IP address.
Any guidance much appreciated, I've read the doc and its very vague. Thanks all
