System Maintenance

I need to come up with a checklist of things to check on a monthly basis to insure that the system is running properly at various sites. I figured that checking the log files would be a good place to start. Any ideas, suggestions, or pet areas I should put on the list?

This will depend on a number of factors.

what version of sco are you running (uname -X)
what are the systems doing?
what services are they running?
are they remotely accessable?

Free space not disappearing
temp files being removed
mail messages being cleaned out
check for error messages from the backup procedure (weekly)
cron functioning

Most of the systems are 5.04 or 5.06 running Medical Manager or VPM and Lone Tar. I try to use Lone Tar as I am very satisfied with the program and the support.
Some of the systems are remotely accessable but I imagine I will do most work onsite.

Well, with lonetar your free space is probably decling and your mail messages are probably building. Think the reporting system keeps track of when the administrator goes to the bathroom and reports it.
