Hi,

We rebooted our Merlin PBX. Now I have a steady red led light on the 100D 1 DSL Trunk and any calls to or from the system get a busy signal. Internal calling is fine, but Audix is not covering extensions either (but voicemail is accessible). I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting. Any tips?

Thanks!

Audix is covering extensions. Still no line out and I have a big fat steady red light on that DSL box.

Your T1 is down. You're getting a fast busy from the CO which is what happens when the T1 fails.

Thanks for the reply, pmcook. That was my initial thought, but it is an odd coincidence for the t1 circuit to go down when I reboot the pbx, right? Can one cause the other?

What alarm errors are in the system? You could have a defective 100D DS1 module. Have you done any testing? The Legend maintenance document covers most of the tests, etc.

Hi Sysquest. Testing shows error 7809 TEST STATUS REGISTER BAD on slot 11 port 00. I reset the board but no go. Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot? I can get a vendor in with parts tomorrow but I wanted to try and fix it now to avoid business hour downtime.

have you cleared any permanent errors, in maintenance ?

You need to clear the 7809 errors, by busying out the module, testing it, resetting it, then put it back in service. Unless the module is defective, that should clear the 7809 errors. Also, as above to clear permanent errors. One other thing that can cause issues: does that installation have more than one cabinet? If it does, you have to power them on properly!

POWER ON RIGHT-TO-LEFT, POWER OFF LEFT-TO-RIGHT!

If you have a DS1 loopback plug, you can perform a physical DS1 loopback on the 100D to check that part. Let us know what happens...

Why u post everything in [/red]BOLD[red] these days?

It's kinda annoying! Perhaps use bold just for emphasis...

Aging eyesight... For me it is easier to read, and probably for others too. Unfortunately, when Tek-Tips added these editing features, font selection was not one of them or I could pick a better font than Courier.

Yeah, but only YOU are in bold, the original question and followup from the OP, as well as anyone else's input, is just regular type/font.
