Hello,

I'm running Novell 4.2 SP9. I'm testing out some new XP boxes with client 4.83. After letting the machine sit a while, the novel client pops up with the user name SYSTEM. Every thing appears to be working just fine, but this continues to randomly pop up. I've searched Novell & Microsoft with no luck. Anyone know how what this is?

Thanks.

First off, check the following...

* Go to "Network Properties" and select the "Services" tab.
* Select "Novell Client for NT/2000"
* Click on the "Location Profile" tab
* Hightlight "DEFAULT" and click on the "PROPERTIES" button
* Choose "PROPERTIES" once again.
* This should bring you to what looks like a Novell Login Box.

What is the Username that is listed? Is it SYSTEM? Check the other tabs and make sure that the information listed is correct. Once you are finished, close everything. No restart is needed.

The other thing to check is whether you have created any Drive Mappings or links to any other resources (Servers, Printers, etc...).

Good Luck!
