quick question, we have an NT4 server sp6a that seems to have stop writing events to the SYSTEM log for about a month ago, security and application are being written to fine. Is there any way that this could have been switched off somewhere and if so where, and how do i get it back on again ?

any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

Have you checked the log setting of the system log? By default these logs only have a small amount of space to write to. Once the log file has grown to that size it cannot be written to until you clear the log or you change the log setting to give it more disk space or set it to overwrite as need. I always increase the disk size to 1024 and set it to overwrite as needed.
