A friend installed MGI Photosuite 4 on his Time computer running WinME without uninstalling a pre-installed (by Time) copy of Photosuite 8.05 for Win95. I attempted to uninstall 8.05 using add remove programs and received a message that it already appeared to have been uninstalled, however a check in Explorer ascertained that all the files were still in place.
When the computer was restarted WinME startup screen briefly appeared followed by a black screen with the message "System.ini not found, insert bootdisk and type SCANREG /RESTORE".
Using a startup disk (unidentified) I managed to access the C:\ drive, but typing SCANREG /RESTORE at the prompt produced bad command. Should I be looking in a different directory to use this command?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
